York is a reknowned Hot Spot for a great night out. It is very rich in vibrant cafe bars, bars pubs, restaurants, live music venues and night clubs.

Just about every Saturday there is always something on

My most favourite free music venue to go is The Roman Bath A pub right in the heart of the city at St Sampsons Square. Live entertainment is on most days 9pm - 11.30pm. On the 1st day of every month there is a black board with a list of bands playing over the next month. The venue has several rooms and a beer garden in which you can smoke. Be warned if the band is popular then the venue can get very very crowded. I can recommend 3 bands I have watched recently.

At the end of the evening I usually head towards Plonkers Wine bar. This is a fabulous wine bar situated opposite the Grand Opera House on Cumberland Street. Plonkers is open until 2am and from 11pm-2am a DJ plays music.

When the evening has finished Plonkers is situated right next door to Streamline taxis ideal transport to your next destination
